Lost and Grey’s Anatomy Update

May 6, 2008

Yeah spoilers. Same banana.

This episode just struck me as meh. Jack gets appendicitis and needs his appendix removed. Juliet takes charge and prepares an operating room while she sends the new recruits and the two Koreans to fetch medical supplies. I’m sorry I’m bad with names, I’m not racist. Anyway the whole ordeal introduces Jin’s conviction to get his wife off the island. One of the newbies can speak Korean. Another point is Jack and Kate doing their off again on again love thing, from the island to a flash forward.

I just don’t really know if Jack’s appendicitis was really that important. He’s a main character so there’s obvious emphasis but the whole ordeal just looked too engineered just to get the next bits going.

But that’s just me.

Grey’s Anatomy

Addison is back. That first image was just really insane. The implications were massive. The show progresses with Addison catching up with the old staff. She makes it clear that she’s only there to help a particular patient. Somehow everything in the episode gets written with her influece, that’s excellent writing.

Izzie gets her fight back. Meredith and McDreamy are given wake-up calls and McRebound has a slight run-in with Addison. George is hitting it off with the interns and realizes his position as "friend of Izzie" and "intern." Karev (or however you spell that) gets interesting drama since both Addison and the "face" come in this episode. But seriously I’m starting to think that they’ll never get onto his story, that he’s just there chocking up the hot doctor count. Kristina is teetering on the brink. And Hahn may be a lesbian.

This episode was monumental, it gripped me right from the first shot! A lot of things to pursue over at the next episode, all right. I really love how the writers of Grey’s Anatomy can string together everyone’s stories and patient dramas in that 45 minutes. Plus you gotta love those introduction and epilogue narrations.

It’s one of those things why I actually liked Heroes at the start. But that’s another post for another day.

I really hope Addison stays! Love her! I hope McFlirty man-whore and Addison get back together!

I think the thing about the appendix was mentioned by one of the characters, “who gets sick on this island?” If you think of the island as an organic being, meaning something that causes events to occur such as Locke being able to walk, or to contrast, Jack getting sick, then it could possibly be saying something about the protagonists.

@TPS

I really do want to have Addison permanently back in Seattle Grace. She brings a lot of extra drama onto the scene as opposed to Callie.

@Adrian

Hm… Yeah good point. I guess the next episodes will tell us why.

how’s work btw?

Wow. I love the spoilers. I don’t get enough time to watch these so thanks for posting the info. Haha.

I used to not like Addison, but it doesn’t hurt to have her on the cast. I don’t like Derek either so it’s fine. Haha. And George… I used to like this effeminate guy with a painful crush on Mer that turned into a rushed marriage with Callie then a difficult romance with Izzie… but now what’s happening to him? Ugh.

Btw, I’ll link you up as soon as I have more time.
