But being a geek doesn’t mean just sitting down and playing by yourself. “By,” not “with.” It’s about sharing what you know (OPEN SOURCE) and of course, applying what you know. To work smarter and faster! And these days, “geekiness” = “techieness” and that’s always a plus.

 

So last week, I attended this madly interesting and brilliantly presented seminar on how to live a Geek Lifestyle. The seminar covered interesting topics such as:

• Taking advantage of Flickr and changing the way you manage and store your pictures. • Polishing your Google skills, allowing to find (or stalk) the information that you need.
• Impress people with your Adobe Photoshop skills with with 2-minute tutorials. (Ok this one didn’t push through because we were shown an immensely fun website to do funky photo alterations with.)
• Pimp out your Web browser with Firefox plugins. (Take that IE!)
• Develop a comfort level with Microsoft Excel and appreciate shortcuts. (Practical uses for MS Office programs)

• Share your library online and track which ones were borrowed.

 

If you’re interested (obviously) there’ll be another class in November. I’m not sure about the logistics but do drop by the speaker, JC Medina’s, blog for questions and details.

 

The seminar was held in Kolektib at Cubao X.

ahaha… this seminar will definitely make me glued on my pc. to bad i have work to do. i guess i’d have to stick in reading geeky computer techie books then. bloghop!

I had got a desire to begin my own commerce, but I did not earn enough amount of money to do this. Thank God my dude said to utilize the business loans. Hence I took the term loan and realized my old dream.
